And, I am almost sure the Quadro series graphics card is the best, but not 100% sure about that either. Neither the school, HP, or Staples understood the graphics and SSD requirements that AutoCAD doesn't elaborate on. So far, after all the searching and chatting with everyone who would listen to me, I have determined that she needs a SSD more than she needs HDD, not sure on size of each yet. I tried to find a laptop given the minimal specs from the school and HP and Staples sold us the wrong unit(s). AutoCAD hasn't been that helpful to me either. I appreciate your comments, but they are too general to be helpful to me. I guess there is a new processor they are adding on HP's site that is increasing the cost (at least that is what staples said) I looked up the graphics card that another student told her she had to have and it costs as much as the computer we just bought HELP! Same computer with similar specs on HP for around $1,000.00. I need to buy the right computer since i don't want her to struggle with computer issues, but i don't want to spend $1,300 if i don't have too (just got the HP at staples on sale for $620.00 (regular $810.00). The model number at staples is hp paviilion 15-cc563st 15.6" (1TB SATA HD, 12GB DDR4, Win 10 intel HD graphics 620. Anyway, bought her a I7, 12gb memory, 1TB harddrive. Apparently the graphics and the split hard-drive are an issue i think. Is it really necessary to spend at $1300 on a computer - really! Could you provide more detail about why intel graphics 620 won't work? i bought her a computer that exceeded all the specs the school gave us, yet other students are screaming that she bought the wrong computer and it won't work. ![]() My daughter is entering her freshman year at USC 5 yr school of architecture program.
